I’m sure you’ve all noticed the changes we’ve made to the site along with the changes that are still coming. We wanted to create a site that more easily allowed the board to make changes and keep updated information flowing from kcpower.com.
There are still changes in the works and nothing is lost form the old site. We are working on bringing over the old galleries as well as creating new ones. We also hope to get more up-to-date pictures of all of the player to add to their profile and would love any pictures you have from games or social events. This site is about keeping the team and the public informed on what the Kansas City Power does.
With that being said, now is the time to let us know what you think and give us ideas on how this site can get better. Feel free to comment below and let us know what you might like to see in the future. This is your site, so tell us how we can improve it.
Comments below will be sent to myself, Ben Redwing or Matt Unger before being posted to the site, so keep it relevent. Thanks!
KC Wolfpack (maroon/blue), KC Warlock (black/yellow), KC Cobra Kai (black/red)
On Saturday, April 24, as the steady rain was coming down in the morning and continued throughout most of the day, the KC Power footy season got underway with the annual Kirkie Cup Tournament. 3 KC teams, Wolfpack, Cobra Kai, and KC Warlock, and the Des Moines Roosters, battled it out in challenging wet conditions. A special welcome is extended to the Des Moines Roosters who continue to expand on their newly formed 2009 team.
The final saw a close game between KC Warlock and KC Wolfpack. With the score see-sawing, and KC Warlock holding onto a lead into the dying minutes, the Wolfpack was not done. The ball was moved up field and after fighting for possession, Journey made a hand pass to a running Caleb Doherty who kicked the winning goal for the Wolfpack with the absolute last kick of the day.
Congrats to the Wolfpack for winning the final, but also to all who turned up and played today. Carlos Santacruz was awarded the MVP of the tournament. Thanks to Kirkie and Scotty for umpiring all day, and a special thanks to our great supporters who sat in the rain and cheered the players on!

Some special highlights in the tough conditions included; 2 separate Alan Didak style goals from the forward pocket kicked by Thias, Yaza’s 3 goals in the final, Billy’s straight forward and calculated running game out of the backline, Walle in the backline – and doing a great job, 2nd year players Ox, Ben, Diction, Fritzy, Scotty TV, all getting a lot of the football which is very promising, Dutchy providing a headache against the Roosters, Brady’s great acrobatic chest mark, Jim and Caleb diving into the mud at every opportunity, a solid performance all day from Carlos and Thias.
2010 KC Power
The Kansas City Power kicks off preseason this Saturday, April 24, with the annual Kirkie Cup! The Power has split into three Kansas City teams, and the Des Moines Roosters will be traveling down to compete in this exciting event!
Saturday night Kansas City Power will be hosting an ANZAC Day celebration at Westport Flea Market starting at 8:00 p.m. Drink specials will be available, so invite anyone and everyone you know! We will also be airing a live Aussie football match starting at 11:00 p.m.!
What is ANZAC Day? …..similar to our Memorial Day, ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, and is commemorated by both countries on the 25th of April every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought in World War I. It now more broadly commemorates all those who dies and served in military operations for their countries.
